  • Procedure for Installing Reese 58098 Replacement Trunnion and Roll Pin
  • The procedure you described is exactly correct. That is exactly how the # 58098 trunnions are replaced. You'll use a punch to drive out the roll pin holding the old trunnion on the spring bar, then remove the trunnion from the bar. Then, slide the replacement trunnion on the bar, making sure the holes for the roll pins line up. Then drive the new roll pins into place. The roll pins are made of spring steel, so they will be a compression fit, you won't need to add anything to hold them...

  • Axle Lift Kit for 2007 Airstream Bambi 19 Foot Travel Trailer
  • The lift kit you need is the Torflex Lift Kit - Tandem Axle - 2-7/8" Lift # K71-724-02 which only comes in a set for two axles. Unfortunately we don't sell a single axle lift kit for that specific axle and the mounting hole locations are specific so another lift spacer won't work.

  • Is Drilling Required to Install Rear View Safety Backup Camera System w/Side Cameras
  • The Rear View Safety Backup Camera System with Side Cameras # RVS-062710 comes with hardware to attach the cameras to the outside of the trailer. This would require drilling into the outer body of your Airstream. If you go with this system along with the quick tow # RVS-2133, I recommend putting a dab of silicone sealant # LT37464 at the holes so no water can get in. You would also presumably have to drill holes to run the wiring. The side cameras do have gaskets so you would not have to...

  • Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 4,500lb Travel Trailer
  • For your 2007 Airstream Safari Travel Trailer, I would go with the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # C17499. This has a tongue weight range of 500-800lbs and max towing weight of 8,000lbs. Since your travel trailer has an approximate weight of 4,460lbs and tongue weight of roughly 650lbs, this hitch will handle it well. This setup includes the shank that fits into a 2" receiver hitch. Make sure that your towing vehicle has a receiver hitch capable of pulling this...

  • How To Determine Correct Brake Assembly For 2007 Airstream Safar Travel Trailer
  • Replacement brakes typically correspond with the capacity of your axles. They also need to match the bolt pattern on the brake mounting flange as well as the size of your drum on the hub and drum assembly. Based on what I have found, it is likely that your 2007 Airstream Safari is using 3,500 lb axles. I recommend checking the axle tag to verify this information. If there is no information on the axle you could also measure the drum which would typically be 10" x 2-1/4". Although these...

  • Determining The Correct Replacement Waste Valves For A 2004 Airstream Safari LS Travel Trailer
  • If you're just looking to replace only the valves and nothing else then you'll just need the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1003VP for your black tank and the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1001VP for your gray tank. These valves just get bolted to a flange or double waste valve setup with four bolts. If you can send in a picture of what all you'd like replaced I can help you find the parts you need.

  • Replacement Brakes and Hub/Drums For a 2007 Airstream Safari Trailer With 5,000LB Dexter Axles
  • Thank you for the images. This shows me you currently have the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-105-106 on your 2007 Airstream Safari. I recommend upgrading to the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459 as this will give you a more consistent brake feel as the shoes wear. It also eliminates the need to adjust the brakes every 3,000 miles. If your hubs are worn beyond their serviceable limit then you will need to replace them. We have 2 possible hub/drum assemblies...

  • Initial Adjustment of Self-Adjusting Trailer Brake Assemblies
  • To back the adjuster off, you'll need to use a small flat blade screwdriver or a similar tool to lift the clip that sits in the teeth of the adjuster wheel. With the clip lifted out of the way, you can use another screwdriver (a # W80630 adjuster spoon is easier to use). You can also automatically adjust the brakes if you have a large empty parking lot nearby. Accelerate up to about 20 mph and apply the brakes firmly. You'll need to do this several times, as each time the brakes will adjust...

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies for 2005 Airstream Safari
  • It looks like all models of the 2005 Airstream Safari used 12" x 2" brake assemblies regardless of the axle capacity. If you want standard brakes you can use the Dexter # 23-105-106. If you want the Nev-R-Adjust self-adjusting brakes then you need the # 23-458-459. I recommend going with the self-adjusting option so you don't have to worry about them once they're installed.

  • How To Find Axle Rating On A 2008 Airstream Safari Travel Trailer
  • To the find the axle capacity on your 2008 Airstream Safari Travel trailer you will need to look for the VIN plate or sticker that lists the VIN number. The weight rating of the axle should be listed on the sticker. The axle could also have a tag or plate on it that will also list the weight capacity. The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200-lb Axles # 8-201-5UC3 is for a 5,200 pound axle and has an Inner Bearing # 25580 and an Outer Bearing # LM67048. If you find what the axle...

  • Info Needed to Pick Out Trailer Axles for Airstream Safari 25SS
  • We don't have a way to look up exactly what axle you need based on what you listed but we can still help. When picking out an axle for a trailer you'll need to know the overall length of it from hub face to hub face as well as the distance between the spring seat centers to pick out correct size. You'd also need to know the capacity. Based on your GVWR 6k or 7k axles would easily work fine. I also attached a link to a page with all of the axles we carry.

  • Recommendations to Raise 2008 Airstream Travel Trailer
  • In order to determine if you are able to upgrade to 16 inch tires on your Airstream Travel Trailer, I first recommend checking to make sure you will have enough space around the existing tires to use a larger size. I am not sure of the exact size of your current 14 inch tires, but a 16 inch tire and wheel like the Kenda ST235/80R16 # AM34834 will be around 4 inches larger in diameter compared to your existing set. You will want to ensure that you have enough wheel well clearance for this...
